Honestly, this sounds like a human resources issue and not a software engineering issue. Scala and Kotlin are closer to math, so it starts to look like gibberish to people who are not used to the syntax. You wouldn't ask research scientists to dumb down their published work so that it's more accessible. Is Kotlin or Scala right for the enterprise? Probably not due to that human resources issue I mentioned earlier.
